Ages 6-10: generally not self-conscious about being observed as they play on the computer. They will answer questions and try new things with ease. Ages 11-14: some older children may be able to “think aloud”

  • When planning a series of tasks, switch the order around for different children so that the same tasks do not always come at the end of the test when children are tired
  • Do not ask children if they want to play the game or do a task – it gives them an option to say no
  • Behavior signs are much more reliable than children’s responses to questions about whether or not they like something
