Abstract

Decentralized control is the most favorite control of robot manipulators due to computational simplicity and ease of implementation. Beside that, adaptive fuzzy control efficiently controls uncertain nonlinear systems. These motivate us to design a decentralized fuzzy controller. However, there are some challenging problems to guarantee stability. The state-space model of the robotic system including the robot manipulator and motors is in a noncompanion form, multivariable, highly nonlinear, and heavily coupled with a variable input gain matrix. For this purpose, adaptive fuzzy ...

Abstract

Abstract  Stability analysis for fuzzy control of robot manipulators has been a serious challenging problem in literature. The theoretical difficulties are highly increased due to the complexity of both manipulator dynamics and fuzzy controller structure. This paper develops a novel robust fuzzy control approach for electrical robot manipulators using the direct method of Lyapunov. We pass analytical difficulties by the use of voltage control strategy in replace of torque control strategy. Then, a normalized and decentralized Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy controller is presented in ...

Task space control of a welding robot using a fuzzy coordinator

Abstract

Abstract  This paper introduces a fuzzy coordinator as a novel application of fuzzy controller. A control transformation from the task space to the joint space is required to control a robot manipulator in the task space. Because the actuators operate in the joint space while the manipulator is controlled in the task space. A conflict between two spaces is produced due to using an imprecise transformation. Fuzzy coordinator coordinates two spaces by modifying the control transformation affected by uncertainties. The fuzzy coordinator ...

Photodynamic therapy of head and neck basal cell carcinoma according to different clinicopathologic features

  [CiTO]
Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Vol. 36, No. 5. (2005), pp. 377-382, doi:10.1002/lsm.20186

Abstract

We aimed to treat different pathologic types of basal cell carcinomas (BCCs) using photodynamic therapy (PDT).Thirty lesions in six patients underwent PDT. The photosensitizer used was Photoheme, a hematoporphyrin derivative IX. It was injected intravenously at the dose of 2-3.25 mg/kg. After 24 hours, the lesions were illuminated by laser light (lambda=632 nm, light exposure dose=100-200 J/cm2). Lesions were evaluated pre and post-operatively and at follow-up sessions (of up to 6 months). After a single session of PDT, the average response rate ...
