This paper reports research aimed at improving cross-tool support for personal information management (PIM). We present results from a study in which we investigated how users manage three collections of personal information: documents, email and web bookmarks. These findings have motivated the design of a software prototype that allows users to mirror folder structures between various PIM tools.
