X Abstract

Understanding sports and physical activities from a participant's perspective is simply not enough for excellent teaching! Teachers need pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) so that they can "package" everything they understand - about the learners, the activity, the physical education program goals, the instructional strategies, the school, the students, and the community - in order to help students learn. In this article, we will describe PCK and how it develops, provide an example of an integrated PCK model for a tactical approach to games teaching, and finally offer some advice to help you develop your PCK further.
