X Abstract

Vegetation on vacant lots in the most populated zone of Rosario City, Argentina, is analyzed using numerical methods. Seventeen communities are described, characterized by one strong dominant species, a few abundant species, and many species with low frequency. Therophytes predominate in these situations. The proportions of indigenous and introduced species are similar, and the latter includes a sizeable Euro-Asian group.
