AbstractA combination of genetic and biochemical analysis is contributing to an understanding of the regulation and role of calcium-independent cell adhesion molecules. Recent progress ranges from the analysis of the control of promoter expression by homeobox genes to detailed analysis of the sites of homophilic and heterophilic interactions via mutagenesis strategies.
