AbstractThis paper presents a discussion of Orchard Radio, an Internet-based radio station run as a student organization at Washtenaw Community College, in Ann Arbor Michigan. Orchard Radio broadcasts exclusively on the Internet roughly 65 hours per week, with a program host contingent of around 80 “IJs,” or Internet jocks. The station began broadcasting over the Web in January 2000.
