AbstractUnderstandinghow to implement SPI successfully is arguably the most challengingissue facing the SPI field today. The SPI literature containsmany case studies of successful companies and descriptions oftheir SPI programs. However, there has been no systematic attemptto synthesize and organize the prescriptions offered. The researchefforts to date are limited and inconclusive and without adequatetheoretical and psychometric justification.
