AbstractAbstract The dynamics of culture and social organization are emerging as current strengths within quantitative anthropology, building on previous developments in cultural consensus modeling and other cognitive anthropological methods. Theoretical developments indicate the need to consider other properties of culture than shared consensus, including the relative and local nature of social2013cultural life and the impact of structural inequality. Important tasks include improved consideration of individual diversity (through experience and behavior) and the use of qualitative methods to not just start but also to complement, extend, and test quantitative research.
