[CLOSED] Embedding RSS in an external page

I am trying to embed the RSS from this group into a confluence based wiki but I end up getting this error.

This did not work either:

Does the rss address need to be in some other format? How can I get it to load on the external page properly?

Paste those URLs into your browser and they work just fine.

Yes, but why don't they work when embedded like this:

    {rss:url=http://www.citeulike.org/groupfunc-rss/17329}

Does this output have a version that ends in .xml, .rss or some such extension?

Sorry, I know nothing about Confluence.

I doubt it, lots of RSS feeds don't. But in any case you're getting a connection timeout error.

What user-agent does Confluence use? A plain Java/HttpClient might be blocked our end (but it's blocked immediately, which shouldn't cause a timeout.)

Just a follow-up to this. There is something wrong with the version of confluence (2.9) that causes it to hiccup when the RSS is included. It loads fine with later versions of confluence.
