Add option to remove notes when exporting to Bibtex

Hello, it would be very useful to have an option to remove the "comment" field from Bibtex entries when exporting references into a Bibtex file. Thanks!

You can achieve that by renaming the field to something else - see the "Advanced" options.

     ...?fieldmap=comment:ignore

Thanks for your help. However, this simply rename the field "comment" into "ignore", but it is still exported into the file. Is it a bug?

No - "ignore" was a poorly chosen replacement word in my example.

...?fieldmap=comment:flibblemcglibble

ok ;), however the new field is now named "flibblemcglibble" but is still in the bibtex file! Here is the URL I'm using: www.citeulike.org/bibtex_options/user/timflutre/tag/a3?fieldmap=comment:flibblemcglibble

Yes - it is simply renamed. Why is this a problem?

I am trying to completely skip the field when downloading the file. For instance, there is an option to exclude Amazon URL. I would like to know if it's possible to have a similar option allowing to exclude the field "comment" when downloading a bibtex file.

I use BibTool to remove various fields from the BibTeX export (e.g., citeulike-article-id, citeulike-linkout-*, posted-date) before sharing it with collaborators or checking into to a paper's repository. No doubt other tools exist.

Thanks, I will have a look at it. I just thought it would be a nice feature to have from CiteULike directly.

I agree that it would be nice but it would also be messy, since there are so many potential fields that one might want to remove.
