No way to edit incorrect original URLs

When one posts an article from a web page, the URL gets embedded in a way there seems no access to in case of faults. The only solution seems to be to delete the article and start again, entirely manually. "Edit URL" only gives access to subsequently added URLs. Examples are sites where the URL has various data for that individual session on the end, and reusing that exact URL later leads to an error message, or when when a page automatically provided a DOI which was embedded instead of the displayed URL of the page from which I posted, but the publisher had provided an incorrect DOI, for a different article.

I have also encountered that problem when I wanted to replace the original URL with a shorter one to use it in LaTeX, finally.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
