Locating Technoscience Locating Technoscience (www.ucl.ac.uk/sts/locating-technoscience) is the name of a web-based reader developed from a series of seminars held in the UK between 2006 and 2007. It brings together key papers in the geographies of technoscience.
The Locating Technoscience Group on CiteuLike allows you to add articles that you feel are relevant to this area of research, the most recent of which will be displayed in a feed on the Locating Technoscience homepage. This will allow the reader to capture classic works in the field, while remaining up to date which the latest and best new research.
This is an innovative and interdisciplinary web resource bringing together work around the geographies of contemporary science and technology. Part of a more general ‘spatial turn’ in the social sciences, this topic draws attention to the way that space matters in the production of science and technology; the implications of the movement of expertise and materials in the development of science and technology; as well as ‘locating’ the emergence and effects of technoscience in their social, cultural, economic and political contexts.
This group draws together a series of outstanding articles in the last 15/20 years of work at the interface between the geography and sociology of science and technology (STS), which demonstrate the theoretical and empirical importance of the role of space in the practices and achievements of contemporary technoscience.
