What I do

Hi, I am jilung Hsieh, a young researcher who devotes myself to the topics of spatial epidemic simulation, complex network, knowledge engineering(personal information management, especially information visualization), and digital game culture.

I got my PhD from National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan (Summer 2008). I followed my adviser Prof. Sun, Chuen-Tsai running two main projects. One is "Simulating flu outbreak in Taiwan" funded by Taiwan Center of Decease Control(CDC), the other is "player and group culture in digital game(especially in MMOG)".

Interests

1) Spatial epidemic simulation(SARS, flu, enterovirus, HIV) 2) Digital game and its culture(player behavior modeling, guild dynamics, RTS player strategy) 3) Social Simulation(Communication problem, Evolutionary simulation, cognitive aspect) 4) Knowledge engineering(Personal information management, tagging and folksonomy) 5) Complex network(local information, limited resource, human-contact network)
