(December 2000), pp. 127-145.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An experiment was conducted to test the relationships between users' perceptions of a computerized system's beauty and usability. The experiment used a computerized application as a surrogate for an Automated Teller Machine (ATM). Perceptions were elicited before and after the participants used the system. Pre-experimental measures indicate strong correlations between system's perceived aesthetics and perceived usability. Post-experimental measures indicated that the strong correlation remained intact. A multivariate analysis of covariance revealed that the degree of system's aesthetics affected the post-use perceptions of both aesthetics and usability, whereas the degree of actual usability had no such effect. The results resemble those found by social psychologists regarding the effect of physical attractiveness on the valuation of other personality attributes. The findings stress the importance of studying the aesthetic aspect of human-computer interaction (HCI) design and its relationships to other design dimensions.</description>

The evaluation framework addresses three levels of analysis: visualization, interaction, and information. We examine the applicability of the framework to the Self-Organizing Maps tools. For this purpose we conducted an exploratory study using the mixed methods research design, and its results are reported in this paper. The conclusion is that our framework can be used for evaluating different visualizations techniques, with small variations from case to case.</description>

    <description>&lt;i&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Self-Organizing Maps method is a special type of neural network used in clustering, visualization and abstraction. In this paper, we evaluate to what extent users of the SOM technique are satisfied with this tool in visualizing large amounts of data. The contribution of the paper consists of identifying the factors that influence the quality of use of SOM tools at the three levels considered for analysis: visualization of data, interaction with the tool, and information obtained.</description>

The purpose was to understand what factors influence the players opinion and evaluation of the game. The research was carried out on number of students who answered a survey questionnaire. The analysis of the data showed that game usability and quality of game interface is the most important factor.</description>

These models have different approach for identifying the costs and benefits of usability and identifying the interest groups of the usability cost-benefit analysis. The models also vary in identifying the empirical research the models are based on.</description>

One reason for this is that the benefits of better usability are not visible for the management. In this paper the author analyses the characteristics of some published usability cost-benefit models. These models have different approach for identifying, approaching and categorizing the benefits of. All of the analysed models approach the usability benefits through a cost benefit estimation of user centred design, but none of the models document every of the three steps of cost-benefit analysis method. The author argues that none of the analysed models document the usability cost-benefit analysis method fully. The author also argues that none of the models identify the business type of development organization and developed product as a variable to be taken into account when analysing the benefits of betterusability.</description>
