X Abstract

In the German Wikipedia biographical records are enriched with data fields that contain name, date, place of birth and other metadata. Concept, history and usage of this Personendaten are explained and some experiences and statistics are shown. Personendaten and links to authority files are only one part of semantic information in Wikipedia. A vision of future enhancements is shown to illustrate Wikipedia's role in the Semantic Web.
