Abstract

Through the use of popular movie metaphors, Kent Anderson of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery discussed how the Internet is driving an evolution in publishing and how changes in information behaviors are shaping Publishing 2.0. As consumers of information adopt new Web-enabled devices, they expect information to be published where they are and on their devices of choice. Culture is pushing toward a disintermediation of knowledge, reducing hierarchies, and changing the traditional publishing model.
