X Abstract

Conclusions 1.An investigation was carried out into the influence of composition upon the electrical resistivity, coefficients of thermal expansion, and microhardness of double carbides containing TiC with additions of 2, 5, 10, and 25 mole % of Group Va metal carbides.2.A sharp increase in microhardness was found to be exhibited by the double carbides at an alloying carbide content of 2 mole %.3.It is shown that the carbides are completely wetted by a nickel-molybdenum alloy, and can therefore be used as components of hard alloys.4.The composition dependence of the properties of the carbides is linked with the contribution to the overall energy of atomic interaction from the MeIV- MeV bonds formed during the alloying of titanium carbide.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
