AbstractThe thermal performance of a thermochemical heat pump, when employed as an energy store, has been investigated experimentally. The working pair of activated alumina and water has been used. A general relationship relating the equilibrium pressure and temperature of the system is deduced. The coefficients of performance of the heat pump, in the heating and the cooling modes, are calculated.
