Abstract

The world of publishing is one that is rapidly changing, and it is hard to see in what direction it is going. To understand the role of the publisher and, indeed, to understand the role of books is no light undertaking. But rather an exploration into the advancement of technology and the ways in which books and their production and consumption will be irrevocably changed, David R. Godine takes a poignant look at this issue, and discusses what it means to be a publisher today, and in the future.
