X Abstract

Summary. In a chemically defined medium in which the principal constituents were glucose, 18 amino acids, two purines and six vitamins, eight strains of coagulase-negative staphylococci grew as rapidly and heavily as in tryptic soy broth. Slime formation was slightly better in the defined medium than in tryptic soy broth. 10.1099/00222615-34-3-143
