The authors present calculations of the frequency-dependent dielectric function epsilon 2 ( omega ) for Pd and Pt. The calculations are performed using eigenvalues and eigenfunctions from the band structure obtained with the interpolation scheme with the parameters chosen to fit the Fermi surface data. The integrations over the first Brillouin zone are performed using special directions method. Calculations are compared with the experimental data.
