Abstract

The optical functions ε1, ε2, α, and -Im(1/ε) have been deduced from reflectance data on electron-gun-evaporated Pt samples. They were obtained by two different methods: (1) the Kramers-Kroning analysis of the normal-incidence reflectance data, and (2) the analysis of reflectance at two different incident angles. The absorption coefficient α shows small peaks at hν=0.4, 7.7, and 10.5 eV, and a broad peak centered about 4 eV. The imaginary part of the dielectric function, ε2, has structure at hν=6.5 and about 11 eV.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
