X Abstract

Abstract  Chip electrophoresis was used for the study of the high-molecular-weight glutenin subunit (HMW-GS) composition of wheat. A model set of samples of Czech wheat varieties was used and HMW-GSs were detected by SDS-PAGE. A part of the common HMW-GSs present in wheat were identified by chip electrophoresis. Chip electrophoresis provides a very good reproducibility of HMW-GS patterns. Moreover this approach is much faster than the conventional SDS PAGE methods requiring several hours for an analysis. Another advantage over traditional gel electrophoresis is lower sample and reagent volume requirements, as well as specialized protein standards for accurate reproducibility and quantification.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
