AbstractSome tendencies of computational electromagnetics are presented revealing the methodological capabilities of some of EM solvers examined. A dual-band planar monopole antenna has been analyzed using six numerical full-wave solvers, based on different methods. The results have been compared to the antenna's specifications and measurements. Showing significant results diversity, apparently, all the solvers were confronted with a great electromagnetic (EM) modelling challenge. Possible mutual differences of the simulations results are interpreted. Only theoretical considerations are taken into account: the benchmark study does not include the comparison of Graphical User Interfaces (GUI), price/performance ratio, user friendliness etc.
