AbstractThe automotive antenna application using balanced composite right-left handed (CRLH) metamaterials is overviewed in this paper. The theoretical design issue for the CRLH leaky-wave antenna (LWA) design is digested focusing on the balanced CRLH LWA, and an application example of the CRLH LWA for automotive radar antennas with monochromatic beam steering functionality is presented
