With the advent of ISO 14000, there is a potentially critical need for a mechanism to assist companies in finding, tracking and determining compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. This paper discusses a World Wide Web-based broker for environmental regulations. The broker is a virtual centralized location where companies could go to search for environmental regulations applicable to their business activities. Because the broker operates over a distributed wide-area network, national and international regulatory agencies would be able to access the broker to register regulations.
