AbstractOBJECTIVE: Metastatic disease occurs in a significant percentage of patients with renal cell carcinoma. Recent advances in systemic therapies for metastatic renal cell carcinoma are likely to have a significant effect on the way patients with advanced disease are imaged. These new therapies have shown a significant increase in progression-free survival. CONCLUSION: Imaging is likely to play an increasing role in the management, diagnosis, and monitoring of response to treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma.
