Notes for this articleargued that animation should leverage what cartoon designers already know. These include:
-solidity (weight, balance, consistency e.g. don't drag an outline around) - motion blur when big jumps occur - arrivals and departures (always arrive or disappear w/ animation; dissolve through layers on the screen)
- exaggeration
- - anticipation (e.g. start moving with a small quick contrary movement)
- reinforcement
- - slow in/slow out
- - arcs instead of straight lines
- - follow through (e.g. wiggle at end of motion)
