didn't seem to do much of any of the things we consider "necessary" in a paper today (except a minimal user study) -- yet still had great impact. benefits of tangible:

  • familiarity
  • direct action
  • obvious use
  • palpability
  • no tool modeling
  • feedback
  • two-handed interaction
  • pragmatics
  • new tool uses
