X Abstract

This article addresses the quality-of-service (QoS) provisioning issues in the wireless mesh backbonefor broadband wireless access. Differentiated services (DiffServ) over the wireless mesh backbone isproposed, and the wireless DiffServ provisioning techniques are investigated in the avenues of QoSrouting and MAC mechanisms. Challenges and problems are identified, along with possible researchdirections and potential solutions.
