Abstract

Discusses the challenge of developing future higher education leaders--especially business officers--in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. Differentiates between adaptive dilemmas and situations that can be addressed with technical fixes. Describes confusion as a normal condition of leadership. Proposes 5 strategies that institutions can implement in order to foster the development of future leaders.
