AbstractObjective: To determine if there were any consistent factor(s) in the case histories and/or examination findings in a small case series of dyslexic children who had presented to chiropractors. Method: A questionnaire was completed by the mother in each case, eliciting information regarding the history of the labour and delivery; particular regard to any pre- or peri-natal trauma; the child's developmental pattern and dietary and lifestyle details. Conclusion: It was noted that all three children had had a traumatic birth; all three presented with co-morbidity; two of the three children had a parent who had been diagnosed as dyslexic and the other had a parent with dyslexic tendencies. A larger study is called for to determine whether or not pre- or peri-natal trauma is a persistent trend in children with dyslexia.
