X Abstract

In this paper, model calculations are given in order to show how a steady transonic flow in a duct with an abrupt enlargement can become unstable and how in this case a disturbance builds up to a limit-cycle oscillation. The theoretical model of the flow incorporates a supersonic expansion area (bounded by straight jet boundaries and a straight normal shock) which is treated with an integral method applied to the gas dynamic equations. The feedback between the base region and the flow area behind the shock is described by various model equations.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
