Not only is HRM being exposed to more external factors on a national level, but also there are factors on the international level that are having increased trans-border impact on HRM operations. Two HRM practitioners based on opposite sides of the Pacific Rim comment, from an operational perspective, on trends in international hu man resource management (IHRM). They scan the external operating environment for societal, governmental and commercial factors that they think will have a future impact on the IHRM function.
