Abstract

In this review, the recent and significant advances in comprehensive two-dimensional Gas Chromatography (2D-GC or GC ? GC) and their associated applications during the past three years (2007 to present) are reviewed and discussed. The discussion includes a brief overview of the recent advances in 2D-GC techniques and theory, followed by examples of new applications and instrumentation for the various 2D-GC analysis techniques. Example applications in biological/clinical, environmental, petroleum, food, fragrance, and forensic analysis are provided. This report clearly shows that the applications of 2D-GC are active and growing. The technique is penetrating to different areas with new applications being reported regularly.
