looking at general tasks performed by older people

they combined heuristics from experience (Tec-Ed), Ginny Redish, Neilsen,National Institute of Aging etc. Then came up with some general tasks that older people would do such as starting the day by reading email, then the news, or planning a trip, doing money housekeeping etc. They selected a number of generalist (i.e. not aimed at seniors) websites and performed the tasks on these using a selection of personas.

As they did the task they evaluated the websites and process against the agreed heuristics. Results were then analysed to find any general rules of what is good and bad about websites for seniors.
