AbstractThe difference of solvation site between halide ions and electrons in an alkylammonium ionic liquid is discussed on the basis of spectroscopic data. The data indicate that the halide ions replaced the anions of the ionic liquid and were fully solvated by the ammonium cations. In contrast, the solvated electrons were less solvated, suggesting that they were located near the region of the alkyl chain of the cations.
