Abstract

There are three types of basidiospore ornamentation in Ramariopsis species : (a) Kunzei-type with a discontinuous tunica forming the verrucae; (b) Biformis-type with a continuous tunica forming verrucae; and (c) Minutula-type with a continuous tunica forming rugosities. All Ramariopsis species have ornamented spores. The ornamentation structure in both Clavulinopsis and Scytinopogon spores differs from that found in Ramariopsis and a phyletic relationship between these genera is not supported.
