X Abstract

In this paper, we propose an integration of our life log system and MyLifeBits project to achieve continuous and discrete recording and retrieval of personal experiences. MyLifeBits project is one of the successful researches which concerned about desktop computer activities as a discrete digital memory. Our life log system has been developed to record and retrieve personal experiences as continuous wearable video. In order to achieve an idealistic Memex vision, we have been developing a life log platform aiming at capture and analysis of continuous video using a wearable computer and wearable sensors. In addition, SenseCam, a passive capture camera is also used to capture still images at a good time to represent some parts of experiences. In this paper, we present the life log platform to efficiently record and retrieve personal experiences from personal media in our life time including life log video, SenseCam images and various digital media in daily life. Life log system and SenseCam in conjunction with wearable sensors are applied to support each other for media experience retrieval. The system integration of our life log system and MyLifeBits project gains the advantages of life log platform for recording and retrieval of personal media.
