X Abstract

When an intense electromagnetic wave is incident obliquely on a sharply bounded overdense plasma; strong energy absorption can be accounted for by the electrons that are dragged into the vacuum and sent back into the plasma with velocities v≃ v osc . This mechanism is more efficient than usual resonant absorption for v osc/ω > L ; with L being the density gradient length. In the very high-intensity CO 2 -laser – target interaction; this mechanism may account for most of the energy absorption.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
