AbstractThe concept of the righteousness of God which provides the most natural and coherent interpretation of Rom 3:25,26 and which takes full account of the term's OT background as well as the immediate context is not "covenant faithfulness" or "faithfulness to creation" but rather God's unwavering commitment always to act for his own name's sake. The so-called "satisfaction theory" of the atonement may be more "Hebraic-Biblical" than is often thought. 10.1177/0142064X8000200701
