AbstractWe present expressions for adjacent channel interference calculations for OFDM systems. The expressions presented are general in the sense that they are valid for any kind of transmission window, guard time and symbol time. As two examples the interference expressions are given for rectangular windows and Hanning windows. We also present a method for deriving the interference for a WSSUS channel model. We find that the Hanning window with no guard time reduces the effects of the time and frequency synchronization errors, as well as of the time and Doppler spread, compared to the rectangular window with a guard time of 1/8 of the symbol time
