Abstract

The special symmetry properties of the discrete nonlinear Schrodinger equation allow a complete revival of the initial wavefunction. That is employed in the context of stationary propagation of light in a waveguide array. As an inverting system we propose a short array of almost isolated waveguides which cause a relative pi phase shift in the neighboring waveguides. By means of numerical simulations of the model equations we demonstrate a novel mechanism for the negative refraction of spatial solitons. (Also arXiv:1301.3770 [physics.optics])

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
