This article makes the case that multi-kinases x multi-candidate inhibitors screens are much more informative than current single kinase x multi-compounds screens (screens which are directed against a single kinase). This not only allows to judge the degree to which compounds are specific to a kinase but may also lead to inhibitors that can target multiple kinase involved in different pathways (e.g. angiogenesis and cell cycle).
