X Abstract

Black Families is a highly readable and scholarly book that avoids the pitfalls of excessive romanticism by adhering to the objective spirit of scientific inquiry. A significant contribution to the knowledge base supporting social work practice. It should appear on the reading list of a wide range of courses, including courses in human behavior, social policy, and social research.
