Notes for this articleFaculty adoption more about management, and less with pedagogy. Esp for large classes. Peers and institutional pressure also important for adoption. Usage increases over time as profs see more uses for pedagogical uses of CMS. "Accidental" pedagogical gain. Those who reduce use complain of time required to restructure courses. Mosts uses are for normal courses. Most important goals is to supplement lecture, increase transparency. Also can be used to make more interactive, increase communication with students.
