X Abstract

Smart Home (SH) technology, comprising smart devices in the home context, promises enormous possibilities to our future life. At the same time, it might have its own influence to change our living habits. Moreover, home is not just physical house for people as stressed by multidisciplinary researchers. In this respect, SH is considered not only as a technology but also as a home. This paper helps us understand home, which is surely a fundamental notion in SH research. It also explores home perspectives within multidisciplinary arts to grasp broad aspects of home which is different from the notions of office and house. Then, we elaborate a factor - homeliness - as a criterion of SH.
