X Abstract

Support for the personalization of information items is an important capability, one that can enhance the ability of knowledge workers to perform their tasks. An approach for the personalization of information items has been developed, along with a personalization environment prototype system. Though useful in supporting the personalization process for individuals and small groups of knowledge workers, the approach is limited in its ability to support larger numbers of knowledge workers who all need to utilize the same personalization space. An augmentation to the approach is underway which provides more support for the organization of personalizations, and should enable it to more effectively support larger groups of knowledge workers sharing the same personalization space.
