X Abstract

Absorption and emission spectra of KY(WO4)2:Pr3+ and KGd(WO4)2:Pr3+ crystals are recorded at 77 K, and the experimental energy level schemes of Pr3+ ions are determined. Crystal field analysis for Pr3+ ions is carried out using the true C2 point symmetry. The initial set of crystal field parameters was obtained from superposition model calculations. Experimental crystal field energies of KY(WO4)2:Pr3+ and KGd(WO4)2:Pr3+ crystals are fitted with the root mean squares deviation [sigma]=16.4 and 17.5 cm-1, respectively. The consistency of these sets of crystal field parameter for Pr3+ ions is confirmed from comparative crystal field calculations for Nd3+ ions doped in KY(WO4)2 crystal resulting in [sigma]=8.2 cm-1.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
